This policy explains what personal data we process when you visit silvernoses.com or contact us, why, on what legal basis and what rights you have. It follows the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”), Greek Law 4624/2019 and Law 3471/2006.

1. Data controller

We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer (DPO), as one is not required for the size and nature of our activity.

2. What data we process

When you contact us

When you fill in the contact form (name, email, subject, message) or the availability form (home, full name, number of guests, check-in and check-out dates, email, phone, message), your details are stored on the website and sent to us by email so that we can reply. If you contact us by phone or WhatsApp, we process your number and the content of the communication.

When you browse the website

• Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, time of access. Logged automatically by the server to operate and protect the website.
• Visitor statistics (Google Analytics): only if you give your consent in the cookie banner.

3. Purposes and legal basis

• Replying to enquiries and booking requests — steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• Security and proper operation of the website — our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
• Visitor statistics — your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Article 4(5) of Law 3471/2006), which you can withdraw at any time.

4. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies (e.g. to remember your choice in the cookie banner), which do not require consent. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) are only set if you click “Accept” or enable them in the settings. We use Google Consent Mode: before you consent, Google services run without cookies. You can change your choice at any time from the Cookie settings.

5. Recipients and third-party services

We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for their own purposes. The following providers have access only as far as necessary:

• Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany) — website and email hosting.
• Google — Google Analytics (only with your consent) and Google Fonts for typography.
• Meta / Instagram — displaying our Instagram posts on the website.
• Elfsight — the website translation tool.
• WhatsApp (Meta) — only if you choose to message us on WhatsApp.

Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area, with the safeguards required by the GDPR (EU–US Data Privacy Framework, Standard Contractual Clauses).

6. Retention

• Form messages and correspondence: up to 2 years, unless a booking follows, in which case for as long as tax law requires.
• Google Analytics statistics: 14 months.
• Server logs: for a short period, as long as needed for security.

7. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to withdraw your consent. To exercise them, email us at [email protected]; we will reply within one month at the latest. You may also lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (1-3 Kifisias Ave., 115 23 Athens, Greece, tel. +30 210 6475600, www.dpa.gr).

8. Security

The website runs exclusively over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to data is limited to those who need it to serve you.
